A great week for the yard with all of the horses running creditably.
A nice double at Kelso with Rockawango winning the Mayfield Restaurant Handicap Chase feature race on the card for Steve & Jessica Murrills in the hands of Dale Irving stable Conditional Jockey. Sponsored by Reid Quantum.
‘The Q’ (Quicuyo) ran very well on his comeback for Dennis Coppola after a lengthy lay-off and Thorlak round the day of nicely winning the final Chase on the card sponsored by The Unwin Family celebrating a 30th Pearl anniversary owned by Jim Gordon, sponsored by Leeds Plywood & Doors and ridden by Ryan Mania.
At Carlisle Scorpions Sting was only just touched off in the Novice Hurdle, patience has paid with him as he is now a lovely big horse and he also had his wind tidied up which obviously worked as well as there was little stopping him up the gruelling Carlisle hill – other than Richard Johnson!!
Premier Grand Cru ran a blinder in 4th in his comeback race after three years off and Baltic Pathfinder was 4th with yard Amateur James Smith owned by his mother Liz and Assirem ran a little keenly on his debut race in the UK but is a lovely horse for the future.
We will be out at Ayr on Wednesday with Born To Succeed a very exciting Bumper horse for Clare and Paul Rooney and then a full card at Newcastle on Friday and we may be at Cheltenham on Saturday for The Sleep in First team and The Craig Farm Syndicate and Wetherby – would be a dream come true and really is what these syndicates are all about.
We will keep you posted with the runners.
