1st January 2012 Runners

Time Out | Catterick Bridge

2:00 | The catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap Steeple Chase

Jockey: Mr Nathan Moscrop

Sponsor: Reid Quantum

Thoughts:

Won around Catterick last time out, has 7lbs with the aid of Nathan Moscrop as jockey. He is in good form and I hope he can follow up.

Raining Horse | Musselburgh

12:45 | The Happy New Year Handicap Steeple Chase

Jockey: Brian Hughes

Sponsor: Reid Quantum

Thoughts:

Appeared to like the ground on his last visit to Musselburgh and hopefully with the aid of Brian Hughes will navigate a safe passage. If getting into a good rhythm he will hopefully run a big race- with the added benefit of Brian Hughes skills.

Civil Unrest | Musselburgh

1:15 | The Hair Of The Dog Novices Hurdle Race

Jockey: Mr Brian Hughes

Sponsor: Reid Quantum

Thoughts:

The race is very competitive of which we probably cannot win, however we are playing for places. We have to go to Musselburgh purely for the ground as Civil appears better ground. To hopefully finish in the first 3 will be a very good run for him.

Quicuyo | Musselburgh

3:00 | The Honest Toun Handicap Steeple Chase

Jockey: Mr Brian Hughes

Sponsor: Reid Quantum & ROA

Thoughts:

Q has had an amazing season so far with 3 wins from 4 runs, with this he has been significantly pushed up the weights by the Handicapper. Quicuyo owes his owner and the yard nothing, but we believe he is in cracking form and could hopefully pull off a fine display of jumping. The extra furlong should not pose a problem on a track which should suit his style.
