Things did not go to plan for Muhtamar last season and he was very unlucky to come down when looking booked for at least third at Newcastle but he slipped on the watered ground. He has had a good break now and will be brought on again slowly for another tilt at a Novice Hurdle. He has plenty of ability when things fall into place for him.
Muhtahir was a top-class miler and has been a mainstay of Shadwell’s French operation for over a decade.
Dam Martalina was placed twice over jumps in France and the second Dam Sandsea has produced 10 foals with two winners from eight runners including Barents Sea who has won seven times.
