Bingo D’Olivate continued to improve last season in a good vein of form after a successful sinus operation. Now rated 100 over hurdles, he has been suited in the past by a flat galloping track but ground is the key. He likes it soft/heavy and would have won at Carlisle so maybe we have more options available to us now. He opened his account blowing the cobwebs away at Hexham then was second at Newcastle to Starplex with recent winner Calliope behind us in third and he then went on to Uttoxeter finishing third to Main Fact (now 147 rated) and Out On The Tear (109). He was sadly disqualified at Carlisle by carrying the wrong weight when booked for his seasonal win. He’s fresh and well at home and waiting in the wings for the rain to arrive and it would be nice to use his handy chase mark as well if the opportunity arose.
By French sire Laverock who was a very good 2 year old himself, and now sire of some decent jumpers such as Black Corton and Kitten Rock. His dam Ombrelle De L'Orme is half-sister to Ecos De L'Orme - a Listed Hurlde winner from 1m 7f to 2m 2f and Hurdle winner Red D'Ecosse (2m 2f - 2m 5f) so a Scottish connection!
