So much to tell you about don’t know where to start...
Our resident stunt rider had his first
winner!! Dale Irving on
Wilde Pastures - a horse spotted in a field in Ireland way before my time. Annoyingly stunt rider does not do many tricks these days but we will be happy for him to keep up the winners. He got a champagne soaking on his return.
Everyone went to
The Buck to watch the replay until after midnight then onto the Karaoke at
Pollyanna’s. I think with the drink they thought they were better than they were especially Maurice Friels own version of
‘show me the way to Amarillo’ with Mrs (Dale’s mum) Irving as backing group. I hid under a table as someone was so blind drunk they thought I was a rat – the cheek!
Zaru won at
Newcastle and it was lovely to have all the owners with us – he is well named by Annie and Jess Humbert as it means
‘long striding horse’ and he stands at almost 18hh like his sire
Laveron.
Lord Wishes ran a brilliant race at
Musselburgh and is such an exciting horse to have in the yard.

Dan Brown (our new stunt rider who took over from Dale at the gallop opening - show jumping perfectly out over the rails) had his first ride at
Alnwick in the Point to Point on
Melua Maid finishing a strong
4th. Look out for them back at the same course in a fortnight now they know their way round. Thanks to everyone on his behalf for the support and advice.
Look out for the
Valentines special at
Kelso - we are running a
competition to
win a day at the races with us in the hospitality box (hoping I can sneak in) and
Kelso have their own competition for who proposes first on the day. Think Mr Hughes should do the honorable thing with the girl with the same name as me!
Thanks to
Catterick for allowing me into all the owners and trainers areas stables and also to walk the course it’s nice to be appreciated.
Had my first trip to the hairdressers this week as I need to get tidied up as I hear there might be a
Cheltenham trip in the offing next month – sounds very smart - thanks Rhea x
See you soon
