Lucy's Blog 21st September

Exciting times with the first group cantering away - testing everyone’s arm length and fitness out. No one seems to be able to make up their minds one minute they want rain for Son Du Silence and then they don’t want rain for the parade at the weekend – no pleasing some eh?

Horses come first of course so the rain has come and the parade put back to the 29th September, hope it’s a bit brighter. Some did still brave the weather however including Susie and Daisy all the way over from Canada. Had to share my milk with Daisy but had to chuckle as she was super scared of the wasps. Mind I haven’t had a sting yet so may not be so amused if I do! And my youngest supporter Anna Bramall’s little boy Otis came along with his smart waterproof buggy.

Love birthdays – newcomer Tom Forsythe was 18 this week I always manage to find a few crumbs – yum!

Another newcomer from Italy -Stephano quickly picking up the language. We now seem to have the Polish quarter, Italian quarter, Scottish quarter and English quarter – not sure who is more difficult to understand?!

People on their travels have been sending me pics – a lookie-likie in Ibiza – how rude! And David Turnbull sporting a new JER t-shirt in Corfu – nice style!

Been pleased to be let in the cafe in Langholm- Truly Scrumptious with the nice ladies in their giving me pieces of ham hope that continues.

And well done to all The Craig Farm Syndicate with Son Du Silence at Ayr, he ran a blinder and also won best turned out!

Best wishes, Lucy
