Busy busy lately - had a great filming day with Fergus from Annandale.tv who came to shoot a short film about us and the support we have received from the CX Project, who have helped with our stable expansion and 4-stall horsebox. Susan from the CX Project and I helped direct and kept them all on track and you can view the video here.
My namesake 'Lucy' (Lucy Alexander) is proving that she is as tough as me with sheer grit and determination shown at Kelso Races on Sunday with Snuker, grinding it out over 3m3f in testing conditions, gaining his first win over Hurdles.
Shares are available to join this lucky Syndicate aptly named after the stable; The Craig Farm Syndicate. Horses include all four winners; Snuker, Sleep in First, Unex Caneletto and Civil Unrest, with both winter and summer jumpers. A fantastic syndicate at just £26.50 per week - please do contact the stable office if you require further information.
Birthday time at The Craig with the boss having four cakes! I enjoyed sharing some carrot cake with Angus and some of my favourite horses. Speaking of which newcomer Catching Shadows has caught my eye and is certainly one to follow – also there are two shares remaining in him!
Sadly Newcastle is abandoned today, which is a shame as I had hoped to see Aristo du Plessis, Avidity and Premier Grand Cru out, but with the weather conditions poor throughout the country it is better for all to stay safe!
I liked this verse from the inspirational poem 'Never Say Quit' by William Murray Angus from Aberdeenshire, if ever the words were needed it was last week, thank you Colin!
"Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems afar
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit"
Love Lucy x
Fantastic words in the poet and I think the current owners in the yard will givery James briony and the team there full backing you only need to go racing as a owner to see how we'll the horse's are turned out and how honest they run second to none :-)
