Welcome To James Ewart Racing
Thank you for visiting the James Ewart Racing website giving you an insight into our Horses in Training, Horses for Sale, Facilities and our general yard information along with links to our Yard Blog and Twitter and Facebook updates.
We have already had a great start to the new 2017/18 season with some early winners on the board Flat and Jumps and the impressive winter team will be out in the autumn.
We have 47 Horses in Training here at Craig Farm and a new satellite yard fully enclosed with 9 licensed stables at Warwick Lodge Stables in Middleham. Managed by Barry and Stef Keniry who also run a successful breaking and pre training yard. Barry rode winners for James and Neil so it’s nice to come full circle.
We also have a band of Broodmares including Think Green, Overlady and High Meadow Girl with a nice colt foal by Multiplex on the ground.

Here at Craig Farm we welcome you to come and visit us and share the enjoyment of racehorse ownership in any capacity. We are delighted with the performance and success of the stable run syndicate The Craig Farm Syndicate with 26 winners to date (Civil Unrest, Snuker, Sleep in First & Unex Canaletto) and with some new additions to add in Ange Des Malberaux, Green Tikkana and Strike The Pose it will be an exciting season ahead.
Our Facilities include a diverse mix of training gallop surfaces. The Sand Gallop, with deep sand for resistance training and fitness, The Tapeta™ Gallop for all weather, fast work and light training, and the Grass Gallop inclusive of three sets of Easyfix® fences and hurdles for the finishing work. Also The Ménage with poles and tyres and the lunge ring for preparation work and the invaluable bespoke 10 bay Horse Walker.
Our Hospitality Box at Kelso Racecourse has been a huge success and will continue for the season ahead, a great meet and greeting point -all adding to the quality of the race day experience for our owners and friends.
We say a big thank you to our owners for their support of the stable and to yard sponsor, Graeme Reid of Global Quantum and Equine Products, who supply us with our performance supplements, valuable to our Horses in Training. Dodson & Horrell Feed Specialists and the CX Project, who support our business and growth – next project being a bespoke water walk through wash facility.
We start the season with a first class team and your team is everything David Macleod our Head Lad, John Ambrose yard manager and stable jockeys and conditionals Lucy Alexander, Steven Fox, Conor O’Farrell and a good team of riders and groundwork staff who all individually make the difference between winning and losing.
Wishing everyone a successful season ahead from us all here at JER with plenty of fun and winners along the way.
