James Ewart Racing welcomes you to the website

Situated in glorious countryside just north of Carlisle near the Borders town of Langholm, we are predominantly a National Hunt yard who have enjoyed considerable success since James Ewart took out a training licence in 2004. We are well located to reach all the northern tracks as well as those further south when the opportunity arises.

We have built up a promising string of over 40 horses and our experienced team pride themselves on being able to give each horse the individual attention required to bring out the very best in them. With excellent contacts in France, Ireland and England most of our horses are purchased as two- or three-year-olds and then brought on gradually to reach their full potential. Each year the quality of the horses has improved and currently we have some very interesting prospects.

The yard is situated on the 500 hectare Craig Farm where we have outstanding facilities which we are always striving to improve. There are currently sand, grass and Tapeta gallops as well as a 10 horse Monarch Horse Walker. In addition, we have access to miles of forestry tracks. For more information on the gallops please go to the Our Facilities page.

There is an ownership option to suit everyone from sole ownership to being a syndicate member and we welcome yard visits.  When we have runners at Kelso, we have a box which all owners are able to use and there are regular updates on the horses both individually and on the website.   For further information on ownership please take a look under the About Us tab or telephone us on 01387 370707 and we will be happy to provide you with further information.
